Mission Statement

Our mission statement at the Leigh Performing Arts College is for students from all backgrounds to have an equal opportunity to fulfil their ambition of a career in dance and/or musical theatre. The College places emphasis on providing a balanced curriculum that offers personal challenges, development and encourages self-discipline in a safe, learning environment.

College Objectives:

  1. To regularly review the course structure on an individual basis and amend where necessary, ensuring that each student receives the correct training in the areas they need to succeed in the industry.
  2. To ensure that the standards of achievement are high and are relevant to the intended profession.
  3. To provide the necessary facilities and a high calibre of staff.
  4. To provide guidance and support to all students, not only during the course but also once they have finished and have been assigned a mentor.
  5. To ensure that continual challenges are presented to all students in order to raise personal standards.
  6. To ensure graduates have achieved a high level of attainment that allows successful and varied employment with an awareness for continual professional development.

The one year course has been devised to meet the needs of the dance and musical profession and allows for future trends.

We are a small college and as such, we audition and pick our students with this in mind, ensuring that we have the right candidates for our course. Due to the intensity of the course, we want to make sure that the candidates we successfully enrol are of a standard where they will be able to cope with the training we provide.
